What Is E-Design and How Does Online Interior Design Work?

3D room design developed through Aoife Maria Interiors’ online interior design service.

What is E-Design?

E-Design, sometimes called online or virtual interior design, is a remote interior design service that allows you to work with a professional designer while managing the implementation of the project yourself.

At Aoife Maria Interiors, we offer E-Design for clients who may be further afield, working on a smaller project or simply prefer to manage purchasing, trades and installation themselves.

It gives you a clear design direction without requiring the studio to be on site throughout the project.

How does E-Design work?

Room layout and space planning for E-Design project by Aoife Maria Interiors.

The process takes place remotely.

We begin by learning about the room, the property, how you use the space and what you would like to achieve.

Clients provide the information we need to understand the existing interior, which may include measurements, photographs, videos and plans.

From there, we develop the design direction and provide the agreed information needed to bring the room together.

The aim is to give you a clear design to work from, rather than a loose collection of inspiration.

Is E-Design the same as Full-Service Interior Design?

No. The design approach remains the same, but the level of studio involvement is different.

We have curated our E-Design packages to give clients a high level of design input and value, while allowing them to manage the practical side of the project themselves.

You receive a clear design blueprint for the room, including the key decisions needed to create a polished, high-end interior, then take responsibility for ordering, coordinating trades and implementing the scheme.

With Full-Service Interior Design, the studio can remain involved through procurement, supplier communication, site coordination, installation and final styling.

What type of project suits E-Design?

E-Design or online interior design works particularly well for individual rooms or clearly defined spaces where major structural changes and extensive on-site coordination are not required.

It also suits clients who enjoy being involved in the process but would like professional guidance to make sure the layout, furniture, lighting, colour and materials all work together.

Do I need to live near the studio?

No. Because the service is delivered remotely, your location does not need to determine whether we can work together.

This allows Aoife Maria Interiors to work with E-Design clients across Ireland, the UK and internationally.

Who is E-Design best suited to?

E-Design is best suited to clients who want professional interior design direction but are comfortable managing the practical side of the project themselves.

You may already have trades in place, enjoy sourcing and ordering, or simply want the confidence of knowing the key design decisions have been considered together before you begin investing in the room.

E-Design with Aoife Maria Interiors

Our approach remains the same whether we are working remotely or on site.

We begin with the property, understand how you want the space to function and feel, and develop a design that responds to you rather than applying a predetermined house style.

If you are interested in working with Aoife Maria Interiors through E-Design, we would be happy to discuss your project.
